Sometimes you can't tell by looking at him, but Jacob takes after Jason in the category of personal hygiene. He fusses about having his face washed, but really, he doesn't like having a dirty face, and if there is food he can feel on it, he whines until we wipe it off for him. He's pretty good with a napkin at the table too, wiping his own hands - seeing as they get covered in food easily! Jason & I are both encouraging him to brush his teeth twice daily. He actually gets pretty excited for it because he likes to eat the toothpaste. Actual tooth brushing - well that's another story. He has an Elmo and Winnie the Pooh toothbrush (Pooh snuck his way into the shopping cart at Target a while back. Funny how those things happen!) but they don't seem quite enticing enough for actual brushing. WE have to be the ones to do that.
But he does have his own little stool in the bathroom where he likes to wash his hands and rinse his toothbrush. Here he is looking like he's actually brushing!

I think he's just eating the toothpaste though.

He also likes to brush his own hair, which is frightening. He brushes it only in one spot on the top of his head in a circular motion. What's bad (for me anyway) is he REFUSES to let me brush it after him. In this picture, he hadn't started brushing just yet ...

I only wish I had taken a photo of him at the end of the day. Or at least of his shirt. They had spaghetti for lunch at school, and let's just say his shirt didn't survive. :( So much for personal hygiene!
