Toddler Bed Transition

Once Jacob started to regularly climb out of his crib, we realized that it was time to turn it into a toddler bed. The transition isn't going well. He wants to sleep in our bed more often than his own, but I realize it just takes time.

Here is how we found him the other night. I can't believe he was able to fall asleep like this!

Valentines Day 2009

Jacob had a very fun-filled Valentine's Day. First, it was his friend Jordan's birthday party, and Jacob was VERY excited to attend that. He loves going over to Jordan's house (a fellow Thomas & Cars fan). All the kids play so nicely together, Jordan has TONS of cool toys that Jacob doesn't have, plus there was cake and presents. Sweet!

All of the party goers awaiting the cake:

Jordan & his cake. Like Jacob, he seems more interested in the Thomas trains ...

Jacob & his friend Trevor, patiently waiting for their piece of cake:

Jordan opening a gift. You'd think Jacob was going to get something too considering how close he's standing. Maybe he's hoping Jordan won't like it & he can have it. HAHA.

That evening, we celebrated Valentine's Day at our house. Daddy got us lots of gifts!

Jacob opened all of my gifts for me, including this one - the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" DVD. Jacob opened it and said, "You got a book!" I told him to hold it up so I could take his picture with it & he held it over his head. haha.

Ok, this gift is actually his. "Stanley" one of Thomas' friends:

Holding up another gift:

Posing with "Sheriff" from Cars:

Discovering that last gift wasn't just a bear shaped box. There's CANDY in there!

Eating the candy, realizing that his mouth is too small:

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Catching Up - Again!

(Note: I'm going to start dating these posts in the past - when they took palce - so its not so confusing ... for me!)

Bad blogger! I haven't posted anything since Halloween. Eeek! Jacob has been up to so much since then, and I'm sure he's said & done funny things that I've already forgotten. My whole point of this blog. What he HAS started doing, is disrobing in bed. So annoying! I don't know what makes him feel compelled to take off his pajamas. He doesn't take off his clothing during the day, thank goodness.

Here's how I found him last November:

He's still doing it too. Sometimes I'll hear him call from his bedroom, "Mommy! I took my pajamas off." Sometimes I will go in there & put them back on. Other times I ignore him and wait until he falls asleep and then I put them back on.

Other random/funny things:

* After explaining the Superbowl to Jacob, he responded, "I want to watch the Charger Bowl." Awww, a boy after mommy's heart. I'm raising him right!
* He'll randomly call me "Heather" and Jason, "Jason." I always correct him, but Jason says he doesn't care?
* He's into picking out his own clothes, and insists on wearing socks to bed.
* He sings a lot of songs including - Thomas' Engine Roll Call, the Little Einsteins theme, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Jingle Bells, Where is Thumbkin?, Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee.
* He loves helping to decorate for the holidays! We just put out the Valentine's Day things, and he took the lid off of a candle tin (it had a heart on it), and set the lid out as the decoration. HA! Later that night I found it & was wondering, what the heck? Then I realized it was his decorating.
* At school, his best pals are Logan & Will. If he mentions any girls at all, it's usually Mackenzie. I guess he's over Aubree. ;)
* He's getting really good at doing puzzles. We have (4) 25-piece puzzles and he's pretty darn good, and enjoys it too.
* He knows the alphabet but isn't so hot at identifying the letters yet. Working on that one ....

More to come!
